The anger is mounting each day with the people who are stranded at airports over the holidays and in their homes because of the recent heavy snowfall.

The airports have had to cancel over 5,000 flights out of the northern states airports leaving the distraught passengers to fend for themselves by sleeping on the floor or in chairs hoping to get a flight out and get home and back to their jobs. In the city the situtation is dire also as the snow piles prevent ambulances, cars and taxi’s from moving because  most of the side streets in New York and New Jersey haven’t been cleared up yet.

Christine Quinn, New York City Council Speaker, called the clean up operation the worst in memory ,”We’re hearing from reports from all over of people not even seeing a snow plow by the afternoon or of the day after.  ‘. Ms. Quinn told reporters. “This is a leval of lack of clean up that I can’t recall. “Mayor Michael Bloonberg told reporters that his staff are working as hard as they can and using every single resource at our disposal.

Over the past two days 1,900 laborers have been hired by the city to shovel snow from pavements and streets and 28 front end loaders were hired to help dig out stranded vehicles .
