The state department has warned that the website Wikileaks can put lives at risk and damage national security if they release more classified US documents .Monday Wilileaks said it planned to release seven times as many documents as it released in October when it posted some 400,000 documents about the Iraq was.
If the leaks contained diplomatic cables it would do harm to US international relations and US military interests could also be damaged according to the Pentagon. PJ Crowley, the state department spokesman said, the release of confidential communications was harmful to our national security and diplomatic cables involved discussions with governments and private citizens.
The release could destroy trust in the US as a diplomatic partner For some time the it had been known that the Wikileaks .had obtained some classified documents and this is going to create tension in relationships between our diplomats and friends around the world especially when this information end up on the front pages of the newspaper, television, radio or lead stories, it has an impact.
Congress has been warned of the impending leak and that US missions around the world had begun notifying other governments that it could happen within days, but we are hoping this does not happen but we are prepared in case it does.
