Recording stars, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Kesha were victims of songs being stolen from their computers. The method used to steal the songs was, a Trojan horse virus was attached to a MP3 file that was then sent to the official addresses of the stars and their managers and their recording companies to steal the songs, newspapers have claimed..
The media has named the pair who stole the songs ,as Deniz A, known as DJ Stolen and Christian M., who is thought to be unemployed; the German police are investigating the pair after they have been accused of stealing the songs and hacking into the artists computers for about 12 months before being discovered, according to German prosecutor Rolf Haferkamp.
The names of the songs weren’t disclosed but several singles were released earlier than had been planned. . The 18 year old German student, Deniz A , quoted in Germany’s biggest selling daily paper, Bild,”I’m a fan and I just wanted to have cool music.” In January, Haferkamp said the investigation of these charges should be concluded and could lead to criminal charges.
The pair could face up to five years in prison or face big fines for damages if convicted.
