A mystery donor dropped of an alleged lithograph of a Salvador Dali work at a Grand Junction, Colorado Goodwill store. The Goodwill store will be auctioning off the Salvador Dali work but does not plan to verify the work’s authenticity and doesn’t plan to pay an expert to determine if the work is authentic.

The purpose of the auction is to raise money for their programs, Atwell said, and will instead let the people bid for the piece and let them determine its value on their own. “The Discovery of America by Christopher Columbus,” was the name of the work that was numbered 168 out of 300.

A customer that was shopping in the store pointed out the signature on the print. The bidding has climbed to $550 as of Monday the manager of the Goodwill store, Bill Atwell said no one knows who donated the piece. The original Discovery of America painting is in St Petersburg, Florida in the Salvador Dali Musium.

There are more than 200,000 fake Dali litho grams floating around according to Mark Winter of Art Experts of America in Daytona ,Florida .but he says its possible that the piece in Grand Junction could be real because its numbered. It could be worth between $2,000 and $3,000.
