Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to include Niel Diamond

Other Rock and Roll artists that will be included next year along with Niel Diamond, 69 , are Alice Cooper and singer songwriter Tom Waits.

The song that promoted Diamond’s fame the most was Sweet Caroline . Some of his earlier hits in the 60’s were Cherry Cherry ,Diamond said he had initially been, ” a lone voice out there with a guitar, and it was different than what was going on because it was the English invasion and I wasn’t doing that.”Diamond thought he might get nominated sometime but kind of figured they’d get around to it at some point.

Other inductees that that will be  nominated in New York on March 14 will be the  Phil Spector collaborator Darlene Love and singer Dr John . Some of the acts that have been shortlisted are the Beastie Boys , Bon Jovi , and LL Cool J Rock and Roll star Alice Cooper  said of his induction,”I’m glad they did it before I”m dead,”he also said,”I think what we did was brought theater to rock and roll ,there was no spectacle in rock and roll before the 70’s. School’s Out and Poison were some of the hits with Cooper’s band .,Phil Spector produced a number of hits with Darlene Love,72 , including  the song ,He’s a Rebel in 1962. ,with the girl band called The Crystals. Dr John ,70 , New Orleans pianist and singer has more than 20 albums that have been released.

The musical reward of excellence  from The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will go to keyboard player Leon Russell who teamed up with Elton John on his album, The Union .
