Half Scale stock cars roared to life for the first time inside Richmond Coliseum November 13, 1993 and Arena Racing USA was born.
Arena Racing Hampton Roads Pro and Youth Series return 17 years later, invading the RICHMOND Coliseum for this Saturdays Interstate Batteries 200, presented by Dominion Chevrolet.

The Youth Series begins the event with a 30 lapper and includes the KeesVacation.com A main, B Main and C Main all 50 laps. The evening’s finale will feature the top finishers from these events. A pre race pit party will start at 6:00 p.m. and give the fan a chance to meet the drivers and get a close up look at the cars.

After the opening ceremonies the racing will start at 7 and drivers will meet fans at the end of the Top Dog feature. Arena Racing Hampton Roads competitors were accustomed to going from one venue to another through the 2006-07 season as the schedule was split between the Hampton Coliseum and Norfolk Scope.

The ten mile track was trucked back ad forth from the Peninsula to the Southside. The five race slated in Richmond this season will have the drivers having to adapt to a new building but also a different track.

In Richmond the oval that will be used was previously employed by the now dormant Charlotte, NC, series.
