After making an emergency landing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, the plane rolled off the runway and broke up killing two people and injuring 80 others. The crew reported engine problems shortly after take-off and was forced to carry out an emergency landing, and then the plane slid off the runway and broke up, Mr. Izvolskly said. The plane had taken off from Vnukovo airport in Moscow and was bound for Makhachkala; civil aviation official Sergey Izolskly told broadcast NTV. The ill-fated plane belonged to Dagestan Airlines .Gamzat Guitinomagomedov said,” I was sitting in the middle and the plane broke up about four or five seats in front of me. Then we saw the people who had been sitting there and they had broken legs and blood was everywhere.
Another one of the passengers told the AFP news agency the landing was very rough and then there was a big shock as if the plane hit something.
After a series of crashes the Russian national carrier airline Aeroflot took all its remaining 23 TU-154 out of service in January. An investigation is underway to determine the case of the engine failure.
