Kansas City, Mo (PRWEB) June 14, 2012
On July 1, Kansas City?s new public bicycle-sharing system, KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE, Powered by Blue KC will bring a new way for local businesses to market to the streets of Downtown Kansas City and surrounding districts. The system?s bicycle fleet and kiosks will offer a variety of advertising options that can be seen by the tens of thousands of people Downtown everyday ? from residents and workers to visitors.
?KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE is a new mode of transportation that will be used by people living, working and visiting Downtown,? says Sarah Shipley, communications director for BikeWalkKC, the operator of KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE. ?With ads on a bike or kiosk, businesses can get their message up close to riders, as well as people around on the sidewalks and streets.?
And while normally a high-traffic district of the city, Downtown Kansas City and the neighborhoods around it are expected to host crowds of locals and visitors for All-Star Game festivities, July 6-10.
Ad Options on Bikes, Stations and More
Each of the 12 KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE kiosks and 90 bicycles have 6 placement options for advertisements ? all of which are competitively priced with other outdoor advertising options.
Five kiosk ad options range from a front spot for $ 200 a month to a full poster for $ 400 a month. Bicycles will have six placement options. The smallest option costs $ 40 a month while the largest baskets option (which has one ad on either side of the bike’s basket) goes for $ 150 a month per bike.
In addition to the monthly rate, advertisers can also have their message displayed for a nine-month period. KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE will also offer ad opportunities through its website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, smartphone app, and kiosk Point-of-Purchase displays. Rates for these options are available by speaking with a KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE representative.
Visibility to millions Downtown and nearby
KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE?s bicycles and stations will cover Downtown Kansas City and surrounding districts, including Crown Center, River Market, Crossroads, Westside, and 18th & Vine. This puts the bikes, infrastructure, and their ads in a densely populated part of Kansas City that?s also popular with visitors.
Ads will be easily seen by KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE users, who are expected to total 40,000 during the first season.
And visibility won?t be limited to system users.
?People driving or walking through Downtown or the Crossroads will see many of the ads on bikes and stations, too,? says BikeWalkKC?s Shipley.
More than 18,700 people live Downtown, half of whom work there. Meanwhile, the district attracts 10 million people annually to events at the Sprint Center and Power & Light District alone. Tens of thousands more attend First Fridays in the Crossroads, Irish Fest at Crown Center, and farmers’ markets at the City Market. And new attractions like the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND (R) Discovery Center mean more people than ever are coming to the city?s central core.
Targeted marketing for All-Star crowds
KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE hits the streets July 1, just in time for All-Star Game festivities, July 6-10. Downtown is hosting two events, the All-Star FanFest and the All-Star Charity 5K & Fun Run. Thousands of locals and many of the expected 150,000 visitors in town for the Midsummer Classic will visit Downtown and use KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE or see its bikes and kiosks.
?The system?s launch in time for the Midsummer Classic means local businesses can put their ad in front of tens of thousands more visitors,? says Shipley. ?And businesses can tailor their messages specifically to All-Star fans.?
