Palo Alto independent living provider Avenidas, the non-profit senior services agency that runs a senior center in Palo Alto, an adult day care center in Mountain View and an aging-in-place program at Avenidas Village, will celebrate the good works of six people more than 65 years old who have made outstanding contributions. The 2012 Avenidas Lifetimes of Achievement Awards will take place on May 20 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. This year?s six honorees are Jean Coblentz of Sunnyvale, Bill Floyd of Portola Valley, Phyllis Moldaw of Atherton, Kenneth Sletten of Woodside, and Boyd and Jill Johnson Smith of Palo Alto.
?It is a thrill for Avenidas to shine the spotlight on this group and give them the recognition they deserve. We invite the community to come out in force to help us celebrate them on May 20,? Avenidas CEO Lisa Hendrickson said.
The six honorees have contributed to the community in a variety of ways, including community service, charitable events, community projects and as members of different organizations in order to help build a lasting foundation to keep the community safe. Their numerous contributions have been greatly appreciated by Avenidas as they have shown great support and care for the community.
Proceeds from the garden party help fund the programs offered at Avenidas, and tickets can be purchased for $ 75.
