Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said, “A reliable tip off from another unnamed country indicated that terrorist attacks are planned for the end of November. Increased security at airports and railway stations have been beefed up in light of this information. Sustained efforts by Islamist extremists to carry out attacks were the information that Germany obtained.
Of the two parcel bombs that were intercepted en route from Yemen to the United States last month one of the bombs was dispatched via the German city of Cologne but was intercepted in the UK. Germany had received the tip off after the two parcel bombs were intercepted Mr. de Maiziere said, and this also interlines the reliability of some leads.

Germany plans to keep the extra security in place until further notice, Mr. de Maiziere told a news conference in Berlin ,there are grounds of concern, but not hysteria.
Airports and train station will step up all checks of passengers and the federal police force has been ordered to carry out this operation.
