On May 22, TheaterMania reported that actor Michael McKean (who co-stars in the Broadway revival of “Gore Vidal’s The Best Man”) was struck by a car at the intersection of West 86th Street and Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Tuesday afternoon, May 22. According to reports, the actor is in stable condition. He suffered a broken leg and doctors are still determining if he incurred other injuries.
His many other stage credits include “Hairspray,” “King Lear,” “Harps & Angels,” “A Second Hand Memory,” and “Our Town.” His many film and television credits include “This is Spinal Tap,” “Best in Show,” and “Laverne & Shirley.”
Producers announced that company member James Lecesne will take over the role of campaign manager Dick Jensen in the Broadway production.
