Leonardo DiCaprio in court for women who slashed his face

At a Hollywood party in 2005 Aretha Wilson 40, snuck into a party and came up to DiCaprio and slashed his face with a broken bottle. The actor needed 17 stitches to close the wound. The party was hosted by Rick Salomon, a former boyfriend of Paris Hilton. Wilson had mistaken DiCaprio for a former boyfriend. After the incident Ms Wilson fled the country and went back to Canada where she is a citizen. She had to be extradited back to the US to face charges that were pressed against her, and she pleaded not guilty to the charges in August. At the beginning of November the full trial was due to start .If found guilty she faced up to seven years in prison. She has already spent a year in jail and would likely get a reduced sentence for good behavior, her lawyer Freddie Sayegh said and the sentence she might serve might be 6 months. The case was resolved before it went to full trial and prosecutor said, DiCaprio, who did not attend the hearing at the Los Angeles court, was pleased the case was settled. Ms.Wilson was also happy with the outcome even though she may be deported back to Canada after she serves the remaining time in jail, Mr. Sayegh said.
