The 30th anniversary of former Beatle John Lennon that was murdered is honored with many tributes to the rock and roll star.
Lennon was killed by a crazed fan Mark Chapman outside the Dakota building where he and Ono lived in Manhattan; Ono was with him when he was shot.
He had just celebrated his 40th birthday two months earlier .At a memorial garden in Central Park ,opposite the apartment where he was shot fans are set to gather for one of the tributes .At a monument in Liverpool dedicated to the singer another vigil will take place where fans will light candles and sing his songs.
A charity concert in Japan Ono organized and will lead the tributes is called Dream Power John Lennon Super Live. The money the charity concert raises will go to schools for deprived children all over the world .Lennon’s home city, Liverpool, will hold more events to remember the singer.
Lennon Remembered a charity concert on Thursday will feature friends and bandmates from his first band, The Quarrymen; they will be performing his most famous songs. Yoko Ono, Lennon’s widow urged people to remember him with deep love and respect.
