John Pistole chief of Transportation Security that oversees airport screening has admitted to senators amid complaints ,that the new pat down inspections that checks target sensitive body areas are more invasive than previously.
Security is paramount but Mr. Pistole said he understood the privacy concerns but it is important to consider both safety and privacy. Most travelers would prefer to fly on planes with others that were properly screened and realize that the threat is real and it necessary to carry out these procedures in order to be safe.
If a traveler at US airport refuses to be screened via a full body scanner, a extensive hand search that is extensive will be conducted and that includes touching of the genital area and breasts.
Republican Senator George LeMieux said during a Senate Commerce, Science and transportation hearing,” I’ve seen these pat downs first hand in Florida and wouldn’t want my wife to be touched in the way these folks are being touched in the pat down ,and I also would not like to be touched
that way.”
Eight out of ten Americans support the full body x Ray machines being used in over 60 US airports throughout the US to help security officials check underneath passengers clothing ..
