A Florida woman Alexandra Tobias age 22 was charged for shaking her baby to death and Wednesday She pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder and faces 25 to 50 years in prison. She will be sentenced in December.
Tobias admitted shaking her 3-month-old baby Dylan Lee Edmondson to death after the little boys crying interfered with her playing the Facebook game FarmVille.
Reports say that she shook the boy, smoked a cigarette, and then shook him again.
Tobias called 911 saying He’s only 14 weeks old; he’s not breathing.
Shortly after that 911 call was made, Tobias told investigators a dog knocked her child off a couch, he hit his head and he stopped breathing. Court documents show that Tobias later admitted to shaking her baby violently because the 3-month-old would not stop crying while she was playing a game on Facebook. Doctors said the infant died from “abusive head trauma.”
Prosecutors said they also have a statement from a cellmate who said Tobias confessed to her.
FarmVille is a popular Facebook game that allows members to manage a virtual farm by doing exciting things like growing and harvesting virtual crops.
