When someone says smoking is dangerous,Their right and you probably think “lung cancer.” and you would be right, but it doesn’t stop there. Smoking affects almost every organ in the body and can cause serious health problems. There is no wonder that smoking causes so many problems.
Tobacco smoke contains 4,000 chemicals, and 60 or more and known to cause cancer. Every time you smoke a cigarette you expose yourself to toxic substances like cyanide,benzene,formaldehyde and carbon monoxide.Every year in the U.S., almost one out of every five deaths is linked to tobacco use.
Smoking can cause more deaths than HIV, drug use, alcohol , car accidents, suicide and murders combined. Smoking is the most preventable cause of death in this country, But still smoke and cigarette are still legal . It does seem like something that known to kill someone would still be legal and large companies would not profit from it and our states wouldn’t collect tax on it but what the heck .Smoking is a major cause of coronary heart disease,Smoking can cause an abdominal aortic aneurysm (a bulging blood vessel), which can be deadly.
The chemicals in smoke damage blood vessel walls, which can cause high blood pressure and an increased risk for blood clots. Smoking can raise the risk for ulcers and likely to bleed and cause death. Acid reflux occurs more in smokers than nonsmokers and is more severe. People who smoke are at risk for serious gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss. There are many reasons why pregnant women should not smoke , They tend to have have pregnancy complications such as miscarriage, stillbirth and premature deliveryand Low birth weight.
